Murals Celebrate Waikiki’s Spirit and Features Local Artist
The Imperial Hawaii Resort loves collaborating with local artists to celebrate the rich culture and vibrant spirit of Hawaii. We’re excited to feature the incredible artwork of Journey Flores, a talented local artist from Honolulu. Journey recently completed a beautiful mural for the foot-washing station at The Imperial Hawaii Resort, (located out the back doors of the main lobby) capturing the essence of Hawaii’s natural beauty with her vibrant and thoughtful style.
In addition to this special piece, three large-scale murals now grace the pool area. These stunning works depict the actual Waikīkī skyline and Diamond Head as seen from the resort’s physical location, bringing the beauty of the surrounding landscape directly into the space. The murals create a striking visual experience and further celebrate the unique setting that makes The Imperial so special.
Journey is the daughter of Jody Gamiao, a valued member of the Membership Services team. She is currently pursuing a degree in Cinematic Arts with an Animation Track at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. Her work has been showcased in publications like Academy XXXIII and the illustrated book What Day Are You. With a strong background in Adobe Creative Suite, she continues to explore new ways to bring stories to life through her art.
