Fireworks Shows in Waikīkī

Location: Fireworks barge off central Waikīkī between Halekulani and Moana Surfrider
A special 10-minute fireworks show will light up the skies over Waikīkī in honor of America’s 250th birthday. Guests staying at The Imperial Hawaii Resort can walk to Waikīkī Beach in about 5 minutes to catch the show. For a wider view and more room to spread out, Kapiʻolani Park is about a 25-minute walk from the resort and is expected to be one of the best viewing locations for the fireworks. The iconic Friday night fireworks at Hilton Hawaiian Village are still scheduled for 8:00 PM on Friday, July 3, 2026, giving visitors another opportunity to enjoy a spectacular display over the ocean the day before Independence Day.

Walter J. Macfarlane Memorial Canoe Regatta

Location: Waikīkī Beach
One of Hawaiʻi’s oldest Fourth of July traditions, the Walter J. Macfarlane Memorial Canoe Regatta brings together outrigger canoe clubs from across Oʻahu for a day of racing on the water. Guests staying at The Imperial Hawaii Resort can reach the event with about a 25- to 30-minute walk, or a short drive, along Kalākaua Avenue, making it a wonderful opportunity to experience local culture and one of Waikīkī’s most beloved annual events.
